HARTFORD, Wis. — The Highland Community College men's golf team completed a perfect Wisconsin weekend on Sunday, capturing the WLC Fall Invite at Washington County Golf Course for its second consecutive tournament championship.
The Cougars posted rounds of 280 and 290 for a 36-hole total of 570 (-6) to claim the team title.
Austin Dobbe led the way for Highland, earning individual medalist honors in the 104-player field. Dobbe opened with a 3-under-par 69 before firing a 4-under 68 in the second round to finish at 7-under 137.
Dobbe's victory also gave Highland an individual medalist for the second consecutive event.
Jack Maharaj was next for the Cougars, finishing at 142 with rounds of 70-72. AJ Anderson finished at 143 after rounds of 69-74. Jonathan Huenink posted a 148 with rounds of 72-76, while Jake Maloret shot 77-77 for 154 and Griffin Blanch recorded rounds of 76-85 for 161.
Highland Sweeps Wisconsin Weekend
The victory at Washington County capped an impressive Wisconsin Weekend for the Cougars after Highland began the trip with a team championship at Prairie Pines Golf Club in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
At Prairie Pines, Highland captured the team title behind another medalist performance, this time from AJ Anderson. Anderson opened the tournament with a program-record 65 on the par-71 layout and went on to earn his second individual medalist honor of the season.
Highland then carried that momentum to Hartford, where Dobbe's 7-under performance gave the Cougars another individual champion while Highland secured its second team title in as many events.
The Wisconsin road trip ended with an impressive haul for the Cougars: two tournaments, two team championships and two individual medalists.
Highland will return to competition September 21-22 at the Duane Chanay Invite at Short Hills Country Club in Moline, Illinois.
